Goldenhair Readings at Lit Caerleon

« Back to events

For a number of years the Festival has invited writers to showcase their latest books at an all-day event held in a marquee in the garden of the Priory Hotel, Caerleon.

Previously called ‘Meet the Authors’ and then became known as  ‘Lit on the Lawn’, the event  attracted book lovers of all ages to listen to a wide variety of writers, principally from Wales and the Borders, reading extracts from their work and answering questions from the audience.

Our aim is for the audience to have an informative and engaging day, in informal surroundings. We hope that the authors enjoy it too.

Returning for its eleventh year, Literature Caerleon is a celebration of literature set within the beautiful grounds of Caerleon’s historic Priory Hotel. It brings together the cream of contemporary writers in Wales and offers a feast of discussion, ideas and thought. As ever a pop-up bookshop will be provided by Chepstow Books.

Authors appearing this year include Nicola Edwards, Rebecca F John and Jon Gower. The evening event will include Glyn Edwards and Jon Gower reading from James Joyce's Goldenhair poetry.
